2027 Marvelous
Mystery Quilt!
It's time to register
for the 2027 My Quilting Beehive/Colchester Mill Fabrics and
Quilting Marvelous Mystery Quilt!
This
quilt will be absolutely Marvelous! It is put together with
mostly traditional piecing, but I want you to try new things
and learn some new tips and techniques, so there is a little
foundation piecing (I will make a
detailed video to help you). There are no required rulers,
but I will use the Add-a-Quarter ruler for the foundation
piecing and the Creative Grids 2 Peaks in 1 Triangle ruler.
There will be instructions to make the units without a
ruler, but the ruler is great! I will also show the Creative
Grids Folded Corner Clipper as an option for another part.
The
quilt is king sized and finishes at 96” x 108”.
You could skip the pieced outer border which would make the
quilt 84”x 96”.
This
project is great for quilters of all levels. My patterns
and videos are written with beginners in mind. Mystery
quilts are great for learning, because the project is broken
down into little parts so it is not overwhelming. The key to
success is accurate cutting and an accurate ¼” seam
allowance. In January, my video will focus on these skills.
Throughout the project, I will post videos showing important
tips and techniques for each part. You will have access to a
private Facebook group where you can ask questions, share
photos, and see what other participants are making.
